Prime
meridian is….?
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Imaginary
lines help us :
Find where
places are located
Lesson
two: Lines of latitude and longitude
How can
we describe where a point is on Earth's surface?
By standard
geographic lines called latitude and longitude
Lines of
latitude measure ……..
The distance
north or south of the equator
Lines of
longitude measure ……..
The distance
east or west of the prime meridian
These
lines all converge and meet at ……..
North and
south poles

top layer of the Earth's surface.
Soil is
made up of……….
Rocks, dead
leaves, and roots. It also water and air.
Organisms
are……
Things
living in the soil
Do soils
come in different colors?
Soil can
come in black, red, yellow, white, brown, and gray
How does
water stay in the soil?

Rocks come in different
sizes, shapes and colors.
Rocks can be hard or soft,
as large as a mountain or as small as a grain of salt.

Lesson two:
earth's layers
What are the
four main layers of Earth ?
- crust
- mantle
- outer core
- inner core
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Lesson three:
t=The Earth System
The area near the earth's surface can be divided up into four spheres:
- lithosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere
Lithosphere:
The lithosphere is the rocky outer part of the Earth. It is made up of the brittle crust and the top part of the upper mantle. The lithosphere is the coolest and most rigid part of the Earth
Hydrosphere:
is the total amount of water on a planet. The hydrosphere includes water that is on the surface of the planet, underground, and in the air. A planet's hydrosphere can be liquid, vapor, or ice. On Earth, liquid water exists on the surface in the form of oceans, lakes and rivers.
Biosphere:
Relatively thin life-supporting stratum of Earth's surface, extending from a few kilometers into the atmosphere to the deep-sea vents of the ocean. The biosphere is a global ecosystem composed of living organisms (biota) and the a biotic (nonliving) factors from which they derive energy and nutrients.
Atmosphere:
Lesson four:
The Water Cycle
The steps
of the water cycle are….
- Evaporation
- Condensation
- Precipitation
- Collection
